Here’s another shot of Olive Oyl (Olivia in the Spanish versions, as can be seen from the tattoo on her chest), possibly from her life after Popeye. I think it’s post-Popeye because of the tattoos, which she didn’t have in the original series. But then again, the dress she’s wearing would suggest a prom or debutante, which would make her younger. Maybe they removed the tattoos for the kids’ cartoon.
Perhaps Olive succumbed to Bluto.
Ah, maybe…good observation. When I was a kid I always thought his name was Bruno. One thing’s for certain: there’s a street artist who’s a big fan of Popeye, or at least Olive Oyl. There are two pics on this blog, and I think there are more around Barcelona and Europe. I was snooping around instagram the other day and saw a very similar piece somewhere to the north.
